Or at the very least capitalize on the fact that there are so very
many bad environmentalists on the planet. That’s what a group of
beer entrepreneur’s from Greenland have done. Greenland Brewhouse has
found a way to soften the blow of the ever melting polar ice caps with
the introduction of their Greenland Beer. Greenland Beer, the
company’s first foray into the wonderful world of beer, uses water from
the Greenland’s ice cap.
The company’s new-brew-debut came this past Monday in Copenhagen,
Denmark to critical acclaim. A local described the new beer as “…
smooth, soft, but not bitter … different from most other beer.”
Clever advertising? Au contraire. Greenland Brewhouse claims the water is some of the purest in the world.
Greenhouse Breweries co-founder Salik Hard explains, “Today, with
all the pollution … you cannot get cleaner water than melted ice-cap
water.” They back this up with real science, pointing out that
while most of the world’s water has been compromised by so much
airborne pollution. The water from the ice caps has been encapsulated
for the last 2,000 years, and thus shielded from the impurities in our
atmosphere.
Greenhouse Brewers is the world’s first Inuit microbrewery. The
company is staffed by all-indigenous Greenlanders. The brewery itself
is located a mere 390 miles south of the Arctic Circle. Studies have
shown that Greenland’s glaciers are now melting twice as fast as they
were five years ago, and by the year 2100 the melting could be
irreversible. Bad news if you are a human, unless you are a human
cashing in on Greenland Beer. Mental note - buy Greenland Brewhouse
stock in 93 years.
Hey Lou, thanks for the alley-oop!
