D System - Draft Beer Keg Coupler - Tap w/ Black Lever Handle

"D" system is the most common system available in the US, also known as American Sankey. It is used by all the major breweries - Anheuser-Busch, Miller, Molson-Coors, and Labatt as well as most craft breweries. Visit ourbeer system listing for an expanded listing of beers that use the "D" system valve.

Do all brands of beers use the same keg tapping equipment?

The keg coupler connects to the keg valve, "tapping" the keg. Both the gas line from the CO2 tank / regulator and the beer hose to the beer faucet attach to the coupler.

  • Stainless Steel handle fork for added strength

Replace Hardware Store Kegarator Aluminum part

Got a great price on a Keg Fridge. Problem was when I tapped the first Keg the connector broke off the lock down from my downward hand pressure. I probably could have received a replacement for free, but I did not like the materials they used. Looks like the housing was made of Aluminum.
I purchased a Stainless Steel 7485E-S for D style Kegs. The Kegarator Beer line needed an extra rubber washer to make a solid seal (I need to upgrade the beer line connector next). I may end up replacing every part of the Kegarator, except the refrigerator itself to get this clean.
I took the old connector apart. The probe is stainless steel or chrome something. Between the probe and the housing I observed corrosion and aluminum dust. Not cool, I don't think the beer was contaminated, but I do not like to chance it.
Overall the 7485E-S connector appears to be well built and made with durable materials. It is little stiff to connect to the Keg, but the part is new and I am a novice, so I only have the other connector to compare it against.

Works better than any other purchased elsewhere by my roommate or any of my beer drinking friends. mm is the standard in quality I think, and this is no exception!
