  • Wheat Beer Question

I'm on my second keg of wheat beer (I usually have a lager or pilsner), and I've noticed an interesting trend. Toward the end of the keg, the color starts to lighten and eventually the beer becomes basically transparent. Also (unsurprisingly) the beer gets foamy as the keg gets low. The last part isn't really surprising, but has anyone else had an issue with wheat beer lightening and losing cloudiness, or is this normal as the keg empties?

The diptube pulls beer from the bottom of the keg taking the yeast and other goodies that make a wheat cloudy. You can agitate the keg every once in a while to keep things in suspension.
Malt is the soul of beer... and yeast gives it life..
but the kiss of the hop is the vitality of that life!

My three favorite beers: The one I just had, the one I'm drinking now and the next one I'll have.

That definitely makes sense. I was concerned temperature and/or pressure might be a problem, but that is much more intuitive.
