  • Co2 Shelf Life

I have a Co2 tank, and the Gas is 4 Years old. My question is how long is the Shelf Life of Co2 Gas, in the Tank before it goes bad, if ever?

CO2 is used to extend the shelf life of many perishable products. Otherwise, spend the $20, and get it filled.

Four year old co2 is no different than four day co2. As long as you don't have rust, scale or other foreign debris coming out, don't wory about it.

If you go to get it filled, they are most likely going to need to test your tank though.
Malt is the soul of beer... and yeast gives it life..
but the kiss of the hop is the vitality of that life!

My three favorite beers: The one I just had, the one I'm drinking now and the next one I'll have.

the co2 in your tank has likely been co2 for millions of years (unless you believe the Earth is 6,000 years old, then by all means, replace the word "millions" with "thousands"). It's one atom of carbon and two atoms of oxygen. Our atmosphere contains co2, and plants live off of it. If co2 spoiled, life on Earth likely would have never existed.
