  • Any downsides to beer lines that are too long?

I want to put on some German Hefeweizens (Erdinger Weissbier, Schneider Weisse Tap 7) on my direct draw kegerator setup. Currently my beer lines are about 5 feet 3/16" ID vinyl. I tried tapping the Schneider today with pressure set to 20PSI using a Perlick 650SS flow control faucet. I got nothing but foam. I'm figuring I'll install some 10 foot 3/16" beer lines tonight which I think should help with my foam issues (though please correct me if I'm wrong) but I wonder if I need to remove the longer beer lines once I'm back to a normal beer?

    Thank you!

I ran into the same issue with the Schenider. I used an insert that is installed inside the shank. I believe Ajax carries it. what it does, is, it adds restricrtion to the line, but you don't need to replace the line with a longer one. I don't recall what it's called, but i do have the package it came in in my truck. I would suggest using that.
