  • how much CO2?

I am new to the actual beer process but old at drinking beer
I was woundering how small of a CO2 tank could empty out a standard party keg? Could a paintball CO2 tank work? How would you hook up that kind of tank to a keg, to pump out all of the Beer? thanks for your help

First issue to be be resolved is if the cylinders you have can be equipped with a regulator which will reduce the internal pressure down to anywhere between 12 to 18 PSI to the keg. If there is a regulator for these tanks, pressure to the keg is determined by brand of beer, beer temperature and elevation. For example, a Miller draught product at 38 degrees dispensed at sea level requires 14 PSIG. The temperature is critical.

i'm sure it will fit a regulator, but do you know if a 9 to 20 ounce tank will empty a keg ? if not, what is the smallest tank that will empty a party keg in a night?

With no leaks, it takes a little more than a 1/2 pound of gas to dispense a 1/2 Bbl. With this, a 9 ounce cylinder should do it. If not, go to the next size up.
