  • Aluminum Tubing for Jockey Box coil

I'm looking into building a jockey box for vacations. The stainless coils are prohibitively expensive and cold plates are not proving easy to find. I was wondering though, would a 50' coil of aluminum tubing work for this instead?

Most aluminum tubing I am finding is tested @ around 35-45psi and I have seen it handle more. Any keg I connect will not be even close to these pressures. So is there a reason it wouldn't work?

Sorry if this is a newb question but thats what I am.

No. The aluminum will impart an off taste in the beer. The older aluminum can and older kegs have a coating on the inside to eliminate this issue.
