  • Sixth Barrel & Slim Quarter Availability List

I have had little or no luck in researching what brands of beer are available in these handy and convenient sizes. So, I thought I would start a thread in which we could post our findings and keep it as a reference to share. That being said, I'll try the first product:

In the Pocono Mtn region of PA, Yuengling Lager is available in the Slim Quarter format. It is easy to keep it iced up in a Brute waste can.

If your from the Pocono Mountain Region try Stegmier 150, sixtel, Stegmier Summer Wheat, sixtel. They also brew Pocono Lager, sixtel, similar to Yuengling Lager. These are all brewed in Wilkes-Barre PA by Lion Brewery

      1/6ths

The only brew i've ever come across in the slim 1/4 format was the amazing Yuengling sadly enough. As far as 1/6ths i know around me (Towson MD) i can get Mich Ultra, Killians, and Sam Adams i know for sure but there are more smaller name brews as well. Ive seen Bud Select in a 1/6th as well but not in this area.

            Staten Island

Ippolito Distributors (for Annheiser Bush) says they have Michelob Amber Bock and Bare Knuckle Stout in sixtels. And certain "seasonals" from time to time.

Dominion Lager 1/6 on tap now here. Dunno what else to get next, but I do like the smaller kegs.

I'm in MD right near Skinsfan. I'm a Yueng fan as well, but I usually do those in 1/2's for parties. I really wish I had a local place that could get some of the Sam Adams seasonal stuff in 1/6's, but they told me all they could get were 1/2's.

It appears that AB uses these for six different products. At ant given time, three are available. Year round you can get Bare Knuckle Stout and Mich Amber Bock. Then there are four "seasonals" : Winter Borbon Cask Ale, Spring Heat Spiced Wheat Beer, Beach Bum Blonde Ale and Jack's Pumpkin Spiced Ale. I have never tried any on the seasonals, but have enjoyed both the stout & bock. Has anyone else?

From BevMO in NoCal look at beers available after you choose a store such as San Jose:
                      Gordon Biersch (most bottled types)
El Toro Poppy Amber (used to be Poppy Jasper)
                      North Coast Red Seal Ale
Lost Coast Great White 5 Gal K
                      Speakeasy Big Daddy
                      Alaskan Amber
Wyder's Pear Cider (I know, not beer. Too bad. I like it)
                      Tied House (most bottled types)
                      Anderson Valley Hop Ottin' I.P.A.
                      Firehouse Pale Ale

There are more if you change to SoCal location but you get the idea. There was a list somewhere online which described the sizes available by brewery but it seems to have disappeared.

Just Learned of 1/8 Sankey Barrels Type "D"

While this is slightly off topic, it applies to the small keg application. Labatt USA, located in Norwalk Conn, provides at least one product in 1/8 kegs. Yes that's correct! Labatt Blue Light is offered in 3.9 gal kegs. I experienced this product in Orange Co, NY. This creates many more possibilities for small gathering keg parties and kegerator versatility. Just wanted to share....

I'm in SE PA and my local beer guy told me that only yuengling lager is avail in slim qtrs. I doubt that's true tho. I love YL and that's what i bought but i hope there are others to try - slim 1/4 works best for me.
