I've been reading the forums here for the last week or so and have seem some really great info. I have an issue with my Beverage Air BM23 though that I need some guidance on. It's about 12 years old (purchased spring of 2001) and I am the original owner. I've had problems over the past few years with water buildup inside the fridge. I usually wipe it up when I put a fresh homebrew keg in there but it's been getting pretty bad. I've never took a deep dive into the fridge to figure out how it works until this week (mistake). I saw that the drain line was pretty gummed up with junk and a brownish color so I took it apart and ran some cleaner through it. I found the source of the water though and it's not good. To the left of the drain in the pic below there are some little rust looking spots on the housing for the evaporator. I noticed the water was dripping down from there. I wiped it all up and then got a really close look and saw a couple tiny pinholes in the metal. It was enough I could stick a really small needle through them. So that housing must have built up water over the years since the drain maybe didn't drain properly and then rust has no formed.
My question is what to do with it. The fridge works great, thermostat is good and can be adjusted fine still and I clean the coils under the back once a year with some compressed air and a vacuum. My only issue is this drain and the housing of the evaporator. Is there something I can use on that to seal it up somehow to stop leaking? If I pour water down the vinyl tube now it comes out underneath the fridge into the pan so hopefully it's clean. I'd love to replace that vinyl line but it looks complicated. Anyone have suggestions on what I can do?
