    Question for Refrigeration Guys

    I have a Visssani (Magic Chef) that's been working great for 2 years. A few days ago I come home to warm beer. Now when the compressor tries to turn on it just goes click, then buzzes for a few seconds, then nothing. This will repeat every few minutes until the unit is unplugged. Any Ideas?

    The noise you hear is the compressor trying to start but cannot. Let the compressor cool completely & try again. If it starts you may have dodged a bullet. If not, there are a couple possibilities...

    Unplug the unit, take the cover off of the compressor terminals & make sure the start relay or connections are not fried.
    If the unit has a condenser fan & coil, does the fan run & are the coils clean? You could be overheating the compressor.
    The compressor just plain locked up.
