  • Bypassing Danby DCR412BLS thermostat

I have a Danby DCR412BLS and I am waiting for a Johnson Controls A419 external thermostat to arrive. This Danby model does not have a temperature sensor, just a dial that goes from minimum to maximum. Should I still bypass the thermostat?

If so, from looking at the circuit diagram, I believe that I just connect the black and red wires inside the thermostat and I will be good to go. Is this correct? I have attached my circuit diagram.

Okay, the red and the black wires had female blade connectors in the thermostat. I used a paperclip to bridge the two females and now the condenser is running. Is using a paperclip going to cause my danby to catch fire?

Get the proper connectors to jump the connection. A paper clip is going to be unsafe.

Okay, I found the correct connector and put it in. Thanks for the warning. Would have stupid to cause unnecessary danger over $2.
