Corney Pin Lock or Ball Lock

I'm going to get a corney for some homemade rootbeer and I thought I saw somewhere that either the ball lock or the pin lock was preferred, but can't remember which one, and can't find where I found it.

Any suggestions? Is there a big difference? I'm thinking of just getting one from ebay.

No big difference other than the connectors of course and some minor dimensional differences.

All mine are ball lock just because it is easier to keep them all of the same type.
