I'm looking to dispense beer in my family room bar coming from a remote location. No room to have a unit under cabinet or behind a wall, it will come from the basement with a run of about 18 feet total from keg to tap. I already own a BM23 running great and serving up great beer from the attached tower and tap. I might even set this up in a corner right in the family room but the BM23 is too loud.
Due to the 18' distance I'm assuming I need a glycol system. ($$$) Assuming I'm willing to spend the $1,000 on a chiller can I just drill the glycol lines into the BM23. Use a Y splitter on the beer line and run it through a glycol trunk line into a glycol cooled tower/tap in the family room? That would give me a tap at both the family room and locally on the BM23. I'm guessing I would need a longer local beer line in he BM23 (currently about 8 ft) to balance the longer line going to the family room.
What am I missing? Is there a better way to use what i have to get remote beer dispensing about 18' away?
