  • Frozen beer BM23

I have an older Beverage air BM23 been running great for years but a few days ago went to pour a beer and nothing came out. The keg was frozen. Thermometer in water bottle was 15 deg F. I didnt know these could even get that cold! I unplugged it and let it thaw a little. I plugged back in and seems to be working now. Compressor shuts off if I turn the temp dial off and back on when I set to 4. Now at 38 degrees. What would cause this and is there anything I can check? If it happens again just wondering where to start troubleshooting.

How is it doing now? Makes me think of a glitchy thermostat not reading the temp accurately and keeping the compressor on, or the compressor not responding to the message to turn off.
What I have: Haier two tap, 525 faucets, tower cooler, 10' lines

It happened again. Wife went to pour a beer and nothing came out so I figured the keg was empty. Next day was going to remove keg and pulled the tap. Beer came out fine but I noticed some wine bottles we had in there were icy so I figure it froze the keg again then thawed out over night. Is thermostat most likely cause of this?

I don’t know if it is the most likely, but if it is cheap enough it’s probably a good place to start.

I think it's the thermostat, too. I had an unpleasant experience with the freezer. We have a large family, so we freeze a lot of food, seasonal fruits, vegetables to save the family budget. By the way, I recently found a blog (https://freezeit.co.uk) where there is a lot of information about how to properly freeze foodstuff. One day we bought a lot of fresh meat and chickens from farmers to freeze and prepare for winter. To our regret, the freezer failed, defrosted (we didn't notice this on time, because it is installed in the far corner of the garage) and all the products were spoiled. Therefore, it is better to call a specialist if your refrigerator/freezer is not working properly.
