  • Keep Empty Beer Line from Freezing

    Good day everybody!

What are people using to keep the beer line from freezing after a cleaning on long draw systems when there is no product to put into the line.

I have a couple accounts that will put a product on a line days after we are in to clean and if I try to purge the line with CO2, there is still a chance that we leave some water resulting in blocking the line. Currently we use a mix of water and glycerin. Does anyone have any other options for a flushing agent that will not freeze, is food safe, and does not leave a flavor. Before we started using glycerin, we used something in their cooler like Coors to flush the cold water rinse.

    Cheers,

If there is no product (beer) to put back into the line after cleaning... hold off on cleaning said line otherwise it will freeze with water or cleaner left in it. If you clean every two weeks religiously, missing one line one time wont hurt. Its better than going back to have to unfreeze a line
