  • Glycol temp

Customer has a glycol system, with pump not running glycol will come down to 29 deg with no problem.
With pump on unit runs upper 40's.
Refrigeration pressures are fine, can old/bad glycol cause this??

could be old glycol, especially if it the rv type and not the type meant for circulation. If it is older than 18 mos, swap it out. Also check the run of the trunkline, insulation wrapped properly, not run on heat ducts or pipes, etc.

Is the trunk line run in a floor chase? If so, bet the chase is flooded. Flooded chases are major problem here in Virginia.

Flooded chase from what the chase should be pressure check,so no ground water, at less 2-4 inches above floor/ If the chase is flooded yoiu have a leak!

Chases here flood with ground water from poorly installed chases. Most of DC and Virginia is a flood zone/swampy type of area. I've pumped chases dry and have seen them flood within minutes.

Old trunklines from the P company were not waterproofed so flooded chases saturate and foul the trunklines very quickly.
