  • ******* Glycol

I am working on a Perlik Glycol System and it is necessary to replace the glycol because of contamination ( bath cover was left off for years). If I drain and flush the glycol lines with warm water can I use micro matic glycol or do I have to replace it with Perlik glycol. The chiller is about 15 years old and the glycol lines are metal.

    Thanks Joe

MM will be fine. 2 1/2 parts water to one part glycol should result in a 0F to 10F freeze point.

flush lines and bath real good, old ******* units were originally filled with ethylene glycol which forms gel like residue when it gets old. also, propylene and ethylene do not mix well, it will cause a black oil slick. plus, ******* glycol is sold as "pre-mixed" so cost is really expensive.
