Check Ball

Guys,

I just replaced my hose and coupler and do not see a check ball in the new coupler. There was never one in the old coupler either. What does this do and is it needed for beer flow?

It stops beer that is in the line from falling out of the coupler. If you do not mind the mess, do not worry about it. Although, clean up any beer spill or you will have a bacteria / mold / yeast garden growing in your kegerator.
