  • water on tap

I am building a new kegorator (my forth) and I was thinking of adding a faucet for water on there along with the 12 beer faucets.

My water pressure runs 60 psi, with occasional 85 PSI spikes.

Can I use a standard beer faucet to dispense water at this pressure, or do I need to drop it down with a regulator first??

Drop it down with a regulator. There are pre set regulators available with in the soda industry. Why risk a burst line and water damage.

      Thanks Scott,

Adding a regulator is not a problem. I will do that.As you point out, it will save wear and tear on the entire system.

What is a reasonable maximum working pressure for a standard beer faucet?

Pressure is not the issue. It is designed to accommodate a certain flow rate. Normally this is around 128 oz. / min. Dump your water pressure down to about 30 PSI and install 10-11' of 3/16". Adjust your regulator to acquire the flow rate desired. Most vinyl line has a maximum working pressure around 50 PSI.
