Also, much of the tubing you find and the hardware store will be rather thin walled. The stuff designed for beer/beverage transfer will be thick and less prone to kinking

Yes. Just google "food grade tubing" and you'll find it's for sale all over. It's not a gimmick. Beer can/will cause leaching and infection in plastics not designed to accomodate. Some hardware stores might sell food grade tubing, but if they don't know when you ask, I would assume they don't.
As far as the line for co2, it probably doesn't matter, as long as the tubing can withstand the psi.Last edited by cubby_swans; 03-19-2009, 10:15 AM.

Is there really a difference between using lines from homebrew stores or such places as Micro Matic compared to a hardware store?
Is there really a difference between using lines from homebrew stores or such places as Micro Matic compared to a hardware store to pump your co2 or nitro?
