Default True of False

Does one really need a wait period prior to tapping a freshly delivered keg, or can one release presure and go.
dear prior poster, I see you waited a couple of days. Patience is a virtue, not one of mine. must be over carbonated, or something is leaking or not hooked up just right????

Kegs are usually stored at 38-40 at beer distributors. from the time it is put in the vehicle, driven home, put in the kegerator, it is no longer below 40 deg. It takes hours to bring temp back down to 38 deg.If you don't wait, you will have foam. Releasing pressure will not help. This time of year, I tell bar owners to try not to run out of beer, because if they get a keg delivered in the morning, don't plan on using that keg at least until the evening or even tomorrow.

Default Good news on my not so high end kegerator

The haier has been working well with no mods to speak of. I just make sure the kegerator is cold before the keg goes in and that the keg is cold when it gets put in whenever practical. Sometimes that means putting the keg in a bucket of ice on the way over, but I'm close to my new favorite microbrewer, Santa Cruz Aleworks and can get home in a jiffy. I have also found that I can indeed release all keg pressure via the release valve, then turn on the CO2 and equalize things and pour a nice non foamy beer without a long wait. Again I'm less than 10 minutes away from fresh beer and things are down near 38 degrees pretty quickly. Had one bum keg, that was constant foam and this was due to just a small chip/crack in the rubber gasket that comes on the keg itself.

Default Foamy Beer

Ok I have been having a similiar problem with my last 2 kegs, all beer poured through this kegarator has been the same Busch Light. All of sudden with the second to last keg that I purchased, it would foam off the first 2 sometimes up to 4 beers before being able to pour a good beer. With the present keg, I am having 1-2 beers of foam before getting a full 20 oz beer.

I do live in the southeast, the appliance is being kept in the garage, the inside temperature is at around 36 degrees, the beer temperature is dispensing seems to be fine to my palete. Could low pressure in the Co2 tank cause a pumping problem as with air conditioning, (when freon runs low the lines freeze)? Is there anyway (aside from installing a second pressure gauge) to determine the pressure level of the tank? I have been at a loss, followed some of the instructions in this thread, although I can't find any flow holes in my stem at all, the neck of the tap did unscrew slightly so I tried that with no better luck. If it's a fact that the appliance is in the garage and therefore when it's cooler outside it works better is the reason than I will suffer along with it, if it something else then I am willing to try it out. I look forward to any and all advice...
