Default Problem with pressure escaping out of coupler

I have an issue with a new home kegerator. Things had been working fine and I disconnected the keg coupler from the keg to move the system to my parents. When I reconnected the coupler and turned back on the CO2 I get pressure escaping out of the realease valve on the keg coupler. I have tried pulling the release to purge any excess pressure and reconnect but still same issue. I have backed the CO2 pressure all the way down, but as soon as I ease the pressure back up it immediately begins escaping out the release. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
