Default Coupler Ball Always getting Stuck.

I am constantly having to undo the coupler to poke a rod into the coupler ball to allow beer flow. Every so often i will come to the kegerator pull the handle and nothing and then i know its that time. How do i prevent this and can i just remove this ball if i want to get rid of this problem or will that create a leak of co2 or beer. Any help would be great getting tired of opening the kegerator up every other pour to fix the ball.

Do you clean your coupler after every keg? Sounds like a build up of some sort, that would be the simple fix.

The ball is not essential. For most part it's a profit maximizer geared towards bars and restaurants for when their changing out kegs and not wanting to lose any beer from their lines. For us home drinkers its a convenience. Just remove the ball retainer and take the ball out. Of course there is also the option that the above person stated that a good cleaning maybe what's needed as well. Soak the coupler in beer line cleaning solution and then break it down and brush the parts real good.

Don't be offended but, you may looking for the easy way out. Most of us clean our faucet, lines, and coupler after each keg; some even more often.

I have pumping beer for a lone time, and the ball has never been a issue. Just give your coupler a good cleaning and see what happens.

If that doesn't work then move on to the next step.

I noticed none of the pro's have chimed in. Me, although I am on my second kegorator can honestly tell you the only trouble I have had with my coupler's in the past is bad o ring's or seals leaking co2. After this was fixed everything was fine. It may be time for a new coupler.
    Good luck
