Default Paying someone to fix my foam issue!!!

I've tried everything! I'm not an idiot! I've painfully gone through several kegs with this issue. I've cleaned the lines, filled the CO2, bought a new longer wet line, adjusted the temp, bled the lines...you name it! I think my regulator might be broken. I'm paying my keg supplier $55 to deliver my keg and fix my issue and clean everything. I figure he'll let me know what I'm doing wrong or determine if something is broken. Is that too high?

BTW, you guys are fricking awesome!

I don't know what the going rate for that sort of thing is, but for delivery, cleaning and balancing it doesn't sound bad. And if you can ask questions and learn from the tech doing the work, it is an investment.

IF he fixes it for you and you learn something in the process, sounds like a great deal to me!

Another way to look at that is how much will it cost you if he doesn't fix it.

Got it fixed!

My regulator was misreading - it was claiming the PSI was way lower than it actually was. He said that if the PSI is lowered and raised several times while connected to the keg it's very possible to misread. Makes me feel kind of stupid, but at least its fixed!

When adjusting the regulator down/up, you must remember that the guage tells you what you're setting the pressure to - not what the keg is pressurized to. For example, if you adjust your pressure down from 14 to 12 psi, the keg is still pressurized at 14 psi and will remain so until you draw off enough beer or depressurize the keg with the safety release valve on the side of the keg coupler.

I'm totally there with you!!!! I've HAD it with trying to figure out what is going on with this thing!! If someone will come to my house for 55.00 and just make the damn thing work, I'd GLADLY pay!!!!!! Just when I think I cant' get any more fed up, all the CO2 dissappeared! Now I'm sitting here with an empty glass, and huge thirst and warm flat beer that won't even foam at a trickle out of the keg anymore. thanks Vissani.

If you are in NJ or Eastern PA feel free to contact me for at least a consultation and hopefully a fix. You'll find my contact information at Beer Line Cleaning and Draft Equipment Services for Restaurants, Bars and Homes
