Default CO2

MY DISPENSERS ARE ON INDIVIDUAL CO2 BOTTLES AND LATELY I HAVE BEEN GETTING A VARIETY OF READINGS AFTER I HAVE MY BOTTLES FILLED.

HEAD PRESSURE READINGS HAVE BEEN BETWEEN 1000 PSI(MAX) AND 700 PSI (LOW)

ALL FOUR BOTTLES ARE STEEL 5LB CYLINDERS WITH 4000 PSI O2 GAGES

AND I AM TOLD I SHOULD HAVE 1800 PSI ON A FRESHLY FILLED 5 LB CYLINDER

I KNOW ALL GAGES ARE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER AS I JUST PURCHASED THEM FROM MY LOCAL WELDING SUPPLY STORE.

ANYONE HAVE ANY INPUT?

IS MY GAS SUPPLIER RIPPING ME OFF, OR IS THIS WHAT I SHOULD EXPECT?

QUESTION 2 HOW MANY 1/2 BARREL KEGS SHOULD I EXPECT OUT OF MY 5LB CYLINDERS IF THEY ARE MAKING 1000-700 PSI HEAD PRESSURE AFTER BEING FRESHLY FILLED?

(BY THE WAY) I REPLACED ALL HOSES AND GASKETS 2 KEGS AGO AND VERIFIED THAT THERE ARE NO LEAKS THAT I COULD DETECT.

JEFF

jeff, you should be using 1/2 to 1 lb of co2 per 15.5 gallon keg

Jeff, Fresh CO2 tank should be reading roughly 800lbs on the gauge, you should get about 8-10 1/2 kegs from a 5 pounder

Head pressure in a correctly filled cylinder at 70 degrees F should read 850 PSIG until all the liquid is gone. Once this occurs, the pointer begins to drop. With no leaks, 8-10 1/2 bbls would be max yield.
