Default Beer Taste

Hi,
Recently, I have been experiencing the beer (Heineken) tastes diferrent(metallic). This difference I have noticed after installing a secondary cooler below the font to further reduce the temp between 2 to 3 deg C.
Please let me know the reason for the change in the taste.

Thanks,
Xavier.

How often do you clean the system?

I have a kegerator Haier model. Have my second commercial key, MGD installed. It has been installed for only 3 weeks and it tastes metallic (specifically the foam tastes like metal or tin) and somewhat stale. It has been under constant cooling, not sure the temperature but it is a little above the normal setting on the kegerator. Any thoughts on length for this keg? Thoughts on why the taste is so?

As Scott said the system should be cleaned and if that does not fix your problem I would look at the glass you are using. More often than not I have found people washing their beer glasses with a scented dishwashing liquid especially the apple one will give a metalic taste. It's very rare but I have had a bad CO2 tank cause this also.

tmcgill,

Need to know temperature to determine pressure thus length. Probably going to be around 12 to 14 PSIG with four to five feet of 3/16"
