Took off the coupler and beer was shooting out from the top of the keg. I haven't dealt with this before. Can anyone tell me whats going on?

Thanks guys.

It wasn't by chance Bass was it? Other than that I am not sure. Perhaps you are using the wrong coupler. Throw out some more details; problem, beer type, set up, etc...

Shiner Blonde. This is my 20th keg with this setup. I have different couplers and know that sort of stuff. I think the ball inside the keg valve is screwed up or something. When I get home I pull the handle and no beer is coming out at all. If I wiggle the line around I start to get a slow foam. The line isn't frozen. Then I decide to see whats up so turned the valve to off and removed the coupler. As soon as I did beer was shooting out of the top of the keg on its own. I put the coupler right back on. Now beer comes out in a slow tiny stream. Theres probably only 12 beers left in the whole keg anyways. I am just worried it could be something in my setup rather than the keg. Its a fridge conversion from micro matic. I guess a coupler could go bad although they seem pretty tough to me. Thanks for trying to help bud. Any other thoughts?

There is something wedged between the ball and the seal in the neck of the keg. Usually caused by a small piece of the keg cap, that when removed, fell onto the ball and when you engaged it the first time, it wedged in there.

Keep in mind you will get wet with this, but the best way to save the keg is to shut off the gas and with the keg engaged, pull the relief valve on the coupler. This should allow most of the gas in the keg to escape. Once you hear no more gas coming out, take of the coupler and slightly push the ball down looking for whatever it is inside. Good luck. Put down some papers or something to soak up the spilled beer.
