Default Insurance for people who clean beer lines

    Hello,

I've seen at least a couple of threads that mention insurance for people who clean beer lines. I've only been doing this a couple of months and don't have insurance yet but am currently looking into it with my insurance provider.

I'd like to know if you have insurance or not. Also, if you do have insurance, how much does it cost and what does it cover? Do the people who work for wholesalers/distributors full time and do line cleaning on the side have insurance?

    Thanks,

    Doug

Yes, I do carry a contractors liability policy, which MORE than covers the cost of me screwing something up royally. Costs a few hundred bucks per year, well worth in the event it is needed.

We carry full liability insurance for $2m and also bond our guys. It costs us about 1050 a year. We are more than covered, but use it as a selling point to our clients. I’ve even put it on our promotional material. We have a few competitors who run their business from the trunk of their car and who have zero insurance. I look at it as peace of mind.

It's kind of like double clamping fittings; it helps me sleep better at night.
