Guinness foam
Seem to be getting too much head on the Guinness pours(about a 1 inch +). Beer temp is 38 degrees, pressure is at 35 psi and I am using "Guinness Gas". I have tried pouring in two pours and one single pour, tilting the glass and not tilting the glass. Any suggestions??? The taste is fine. This is on tap in my home in a kegerator.
Thanks, Jim

I have witnessed Guinness pressure between 25 and 40 PSIG. Normally it should be between 28 and 35 based on the type of system. If you are dispensing from a kegerator (short system), start at 28 PSIG and increase from there. Check the restrictor palte in the spout for buildup as well.

I talked to a good friend that owns an irish pub."celtic ray" "punta gorda florida" mainly to see how he gets his mixed gas,and he does it on site, since im not spending that much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. im using pre mixed. my friend told me after a few days take the tank and lay it on its side and roll it for a bit to mix the gasses again, since it will slowly seperate, he said about every 2-3 days. i dont know if that will help or not but its some info you may or may not use

Antman, you are spending alot of $$$$$$$$! The cost of mixing CO2 and Nitrogen on-site through a blender is less than using pre-mixed gas. Until, of course, the gas companies realize they are losing profit margin from the sale of pre-mixed and then trying to make this up by increasing margin on Nitrogen.
