Default CO2 leak - what is the "soap test"?

I keep hearing about the soapy water test to see where I might have a CO2 leak. I may be dense, but what exactly is this, and how do I admininster it? Now remember, I'm slow, so a detailed description may be necessary. Cheers!

Put some soapy water in a spray bottle and spray a bit on suspected leak sites. If there is a leak, it the soapy water will make it more visible.
