Default Gas Leak in Coupler

I just hooked up my conversion and tapped a keg of Guinness. My U system coupler is leaking gas. I sprayed w/soapy water and found the leak to be coming from between the two moving parts of the coupler. (The larger body and the narrower central body that slides down into the keg). Hope I've explained the location well enough. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Pete

I should clarify...I hear a hiss and see bubbling when I spray soapy water. I don't know if it's gas from the nitrogen inlet or gas escaping the keg.

sounds like it is the body gasket [the large bottom gasket] if there are not any cuts or gashes in it you can soak it in warm water and re-form the gasket to work

If the leak is where you are saying, look at this http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-...d-102-526.html. You have to take the probe, (the smaller part) out of the coupler to see this O ring

Pete

Okay, cancel that...I ggot it apart and checked all the o-rings. They all appear fine, no cuts or gouges. I cleaned all the parts in warm water and re***embled. I have the same leak in the same spot. Actually, it may be a little worse. Any other suggestions? Thanks again.

Default Same issue

I too have a similar issue. I cleaned the lines and switched couplers from Henineken to Bud. There were bubbles from the keg/coupler area- I cleaned both and shut off the co2 and it tapped fine. Beer flowed fine... Next morning the co2 was empty. Co2 is 10lb cannister and this was the 5th keg- should I just re-fill and try again? Concern is that there is a slow leak...

check for the leak at the regulator where it hooks up to the tank and make sure you have a gasket in there
