i have a co2 tank with a single regulator -- is there any way for me to tell when the co2 is going to be empty--and if it happens in the middle of a keg -- will i ruin the rest of the beer

Purchase a high presure gauge and install on regulator and when the pointer reads below 500 psi, this is telling you that all of the liquid is gone and the bottle has very little gas left.
