Default Temp question?

I got my kegerator conversion all done and it was super simple.

The beer is great and pours smoothly.

My only question is that I have a thermometer in the fridge in a glass of water. The glass sits on top of the keg. It reads 33.6 degrees. Should I want this reading to be sitting at 26-28 degrees?

How do I know my beer isn't too cold?

I'm new to this game but your temperature should be 36-38F. 33.6 seems pretty cold and 26-28 would be insanely cold. lol

I'd adjust your thermostat until your temp is in the 36-38F temperature range.

Try Scott's "chug" method of temp. testing. Pour a beer off... chug it down. Pour a second and take the temp of that glass. If it's lower than 36 your beer is too cold.

Beer will freeze below 28 degrees. The usual recommendation for typical US beers is 38-40 degrees.

I froze my first keg, trying to get the temperature correct.

You want to get the temperature as close to 36-38 degrees F as possible. My liquid thermometer is currently steady at 36 degrees close to the bottom of the kegerator. My air thermometers read at about 37-38 degrees at the keg coupler, and 43-45 degrees at the faucets (actually warmer than I would like, but the best I can get).
