sanyo foam :(
Purchased a Sanyo at Costco great price, but I've got all foam. I know temp and pressure is important but what the gives. I live at about 5000' elevation and the thremostat is turned almost to the coldest range. Pressure is set at 14 pounds, but by the instrutions it looks like the shut off valve on the CO2 is reversed!!9 meaning on is horitzontal not vertical) Please help anyone. I know I need to buy a themometer and I thought about making the line shorter for a a straight line but reading the post that looks like a bad idea. Also what about a fan or insulate the tower? I want good beer please help as wife is very unhappy with kegarator.

the valve has to be parallel with the co2 hose (vertical) in order for the gas to flow. I wouldnt be making any lines shorter especially the beer line, you will have a fast flow that will more than likely result in nothing but foam. the length of the beer line controls the flow, the longer the line the slower it will flow. MM has a kit with the fan and duct that will keep the tower colder, but you will have to wire it in.

But the main thing here is that you need to find out what the temperature in the kegerator is. At 14 Lbs., I would say it should be around 40 degrees. If your beer is too cold for the selected pressure, you will get too much foam.

Thanks, for the replies right now the temp is at 38 degrees in bowl of water. I think I frozen the first pony keg and had too much pressure. The next will be a half keg of molsen, that I will let sit for a day in kegarator before tapping. I hope to try 6psi I still think the elavation is effecting the pressure.
