New Kegerator - minor problems
Just got a Beverage Air with a dual tower. Plugged it in, put in a glass of water and adjusted till I got 38 degrees (took 2 days to be sure) Added 2 1/6ths Sam Adams and Leinies Summer Wheat. Got them cold from my distributor friend and let them sit in the Kegerator for about 8 hours and tapped them. Set regulators at 14 (have secondarys) Leinies a little foamy, Sam a lot. check temp 43 in glass, check temp next moring, still 43, (don't really understand, the glass is still at 38) turn it down what I consider quite a bit and beer is still only at 40. Leinie pours great Sam is still a touch foamy. I just turned it down again and will give it some time to stabilize but I have concern that since one is good and the other is foamy when the Sam gets good (at 38 I hope) I will have to reduce the pressure on the Summer Wheat. Any Comments? BTW I did lots of reading and learned a ton on this site which is whay I decided to set my system up the way I did. Thanks for the great info.

welcome to the kegerators and the warm towers. mine is the same way, 38f in unit glass of water, 42f beer out of tap. the towers are insulated and no cold air can get in there unless you install a fan and duct into the tower. too much of a job for me, I just run sixtels and 1/4's and keep the t'stat down low

The Beverage Air has a forced air cooled tower. My tower is COLD to the touch in fact it is sweating. There is a duct that goes right up the middle from the *******.

I am a new Beverage Air convert too. But only a single There is a wide range between on and off at a selected temp. Mine keeps about a half inch of ice in a glass of water and beer is 34-36. I have run a digital thermometer and box temps can drop into the twentys prior to the compressor turning off. It is a monster in cooling off a tepid keg though. Gone are the days of waiting overnight for a keg to cool. Awesome machine. Instant gratification. Everytime I put in a fresh keg and that compressor fires up I shout a Tim the Tool man chant...gotta love the horsepower. A double would be heaven. Arg Arg Arg!

Adjust the thermostat to the temperature of the beer. Normally the second pour into the same glass will tell you the temp. Always use a calibrated thermometer.

Thanks for the reply Scott. I did adjust it down some more and now have 38 in the glass, (have a good thermometer). I was not clear in my first post I have 2 beers tapped but have a triple faucet tower. Sunset wheat could not pour better and the Sam Adams is acceptable but not perfect still a little too much head. {A}Is there not enough room in the tower for airflow with the 3 beer lines and air duct?{B} Should I turn down the pressure on the Sam? (C}Should I just wait a couple days and not be so anal about this, just enjoy some good beer and give it some time to settle down.

May be a little tight on in the tower. Try placing the Sam line inside the flex tube. Be sure to seal area where you entered flex. Try one pound higher for the Sam as well. Let us know how it works out.
