Default how to fix regulator diaphram

i forgot to turn the adjustment screw out on my regulator pressure before i turned on my tank and broke it. now i can't use it at all. can i get a rebuild kit? can i take it part to fix it? do i need to buy a new regulator to replace the 1 month old new one? why are they so poorly designed? shouldn't there be a knob to turn instead of screw head? i can't despense all the homebrew i have in my kegorator!

Is your cylinder upright or on it's side when in use? In the future, turn the cylinder wheel on slowly to prevent shocking the diaphragm and always keep cylinder upright. Call Micro Matic customer service @ 866 327-4159 for a replacement kit for youir regulator.

my tank is upright. this is not something i want to deal with in the future. my tank and reg are only a month old and it's broken from a simple mistake that i'm sure happens all the time. i am bound to do it again and would like to find out an alternative. is there a regulator that won't have this problem? is there a reg that has a knob instead of a screw head pressure adj?

I am a welder, I have heard of this problem with regulators. I always turn the knob on as slow as possible, we use argon and oxygen cylinders with 3000psi. have never had a prob yet

ok, great. i will do that from now on, thank you. i ended up deciding to take it apart and put it back together as this usually solves most mechanical problems. it works fine now. problem solved
