Default Question about pressure in the tank

I had my tank pressure set at about 12psi and after about the 3rd pint of beer the pressure would die off to a trickle. The next day it was fine, until the 3rd pint. I don't have any leaks and the temp of my 2nd beer is about 37-38 degrees.

I was turning up the pressure slightly, over time, to see if it would improve and it was slowly improving. My (explicitive deleted) brother-in-law decided that he would "help" me by boosting the pressure. The immediate effect of this was -nothing-. In the short term it appeared to help.

Now my pressure gauge is reads about 20PSI even when I turn the gas off. I suspect what I'm seeing is the pressure in the keg, not the CO2 pressure.

Is there a way to bleed the pressure out of the tank down to a normal level without losing most of the keg?

    Thanks for any advice!!

To determine the problem, I would turn the co2 off at the tank. Release the pressure from the keg by using the release valve (ring pin), or simply drinking beer. The indicated pressure on the regulator should drop. When it gets below 10, turn the valve after the regulator off, and turn the set screw out to set minimum pressure. Open tank and valve, wait 10 minutes. If all is functioning properly, adjust the pressure up incrementally. That should help you determine if the regulator is functioning.

Are the lines hooked up correctly? Gas goes in the side of the coupler, beer out the top.

Sounds like the shutoff valve below the regulator is in the off position and no gas is making it to the keg.

Clockwise to increase pressure, counter clockwise to decrease. Usually it won't show small adjustments until you poor the next beer.
On Tap : 1/4 Coors Light

    Down the urinal : 4 - 1/6 Boulevard Wheat, 2 - 1/6 Michelob Light, 1 - 1/4 Coors Light, 1 - 1/4 Bud Light

    Gonna piggyback here:

Whenever I pull the pin on my coupler to release some gas to get a more accurate reading, it seems like it whistles and is leaking after I let it go. In other words it's all fine and dandy, and then I pull it, but when I let it go it's like it doesn't seal up for about 20 seconds. I have to basically hold it back in and then eventually it will stop hissing. Is it just faulty?

Since then my pressure has been dialed in so I don't think I'll need to adjust it for a while.

Sounds like your PRV has a bad seat or seal, you can try to remove, clean, and re-install it to see if that helps, otherwise replacement parts are available here if it is a MM coupler.

Question rookie with pressure problems - please help

    hello all,
I just tapped my first kegerator keg (1/2 BluePoint Rastafarye). I'm having problems with pressure, similar to the first post on this thread. The pressure seems to decrease with every beer poured, and i have to adjust it back up. And I can't seem to find the balance between too much pressure (foam/ head) and too little pressure. Does anything sound faulty, or do I just need to make some adjustments? FYI, I've got a Haier fridge which came with a druaght technologies regulator. Thanks in advance for the help all...trying to get up to speed.
