    Default freezing glycol lines

i have a system in which the glycol lines are freezing but the glycol in the bath wont go below 40 degrees. ice isactually forming on the lines 50 feet from bath towers are older not very well insulated this unit feeds 3 different units a total of about 100 feet of line no distance longer than 60 feet per tower.this install was done about 10 years ago by a competitor now i have to fix it any suggestions on what the problem could be

Check for a manufacturer name and model number so that the size of the unit can be determined Is there ice on the coils in the glycol chiller's bath? Have you determined the freeze point of the bath? The ice on the lines 50' away normally signifies poorly insulated lines with no moisture barrier present. Be certain that the temperature reading is actually 40 degrees. Always use a calibrated thermometer. Your towers should be replaced with towers that are designed for glycol systems.
