I own an older Kenmore Kegerator, (mfg in '87).
I installed a small 120V AC fan which is powered by splicing into the wires that power the tower cooling fan. The fan measures ~ 3 1/4" square and maybe 1/2" deep.
I cut a small piece of 2"x4" wood and glued it to the bottom of the fridge with Liquid Nails. After that dried, I affixed the fan to the wood, and the side wall of the fridge with silicon caulk. It's mounted at a 45 degree angle,(the bottom edge of the fan on the wood and top edge of the fan against the fridge wall), and pointed it up, so that it blows directly against the keg, and circulates air.
The circulating air made a BIG difference. Now the temps in the fridge are consistent. There is no frost on the cold-plate, just a little condensation when I shut her down between kegs to clean the lines.
Both fans are located directly beneath the cold plate, but that's not an issue, as I unplug the uni and cover both of the fans with plastic grocery bags to protect them from the dripping condensation.
Hope this helps!
