    Default Kegerator Fan Kit

Does anyone have a link to any post(s) showing details for a kegerator fan? I have a tower fan, just want to add a fan to move the air. I'm looking for details, e.g., what to buy, where folks bought it, how it is mounted/attached/hung, etc. Thanks!

Just about any small low powered fan should do. What are you using for the tower fan and how is it mounted? My tower blower does double duty, cools the tower and circulates air.

I just have a 80mm pc fan you can buy them at any place that sells computer supplies. On mine I have four 4 inch screws in the mount holes to act as a stand. I have the fan pointing up and and it circulates the air fine so I have equal temperatures on the top and the bottom.

Nice idea - that was my biggest concern, keeping it elevated somehow so it doesn't short out. What did you buy for a power supply/transformer?

I found this link from an older post, this is the fan I ordered.
    BXT Quiet 80 x 80 x 25mm (3.15 x 3.15 x 0.98 inch) Fan + AC Power Supply
It comes with an ac power supply. I had to take the wires off the fan, run them through the drainage hole in the kegerator and re-solder the wires.

Very nice....exactly what I was looking for. Thanks! Just curious: where do you have it mounted in your kegerator?

I own an older Kenmore Kegerator, (mfg in '87).

I installed a small 120V AC fan which is powered by splicing into the wires that power the tower cooling fan. The fan measures ~ 3 1/4" square and maybe 1/2" deep.

I cut a small piece of 2"x4" wood and glued it to the bottom of the fridge with Liquid Nails. After that dried, I affixed the fan to the wood, and the side wall of the fridge with silicon caulk. It's mounted at a 45 degree angle,(the bottom edge of the fan on the wood and top edge of the fan against the fridge wall), and pointed it up, so that it blows directly against the keg, and circulates air.

The circulating air made a BIG difference. Now the temps in the fridge are consistent. There is no frost on the cold-plate, just a little condensation when I shut her down between kegs to clean the lines.

Both fans are located directly beneath the cold plate, but that's not an issue, as I unplug the uni and cover both of the fans with plastic grocery bags to protect them from the dripping condensation.

    Hope this helps!
    Hail to the Redskins!

My fan is in the back left corner of the kegerator shooting up. This combined with my tower cooler seems to circulate the air very well.

I never got a chance to mount mine. I put it in and let it run for a couple days and wanted to see if it solved my problem. It helped but my foam problem turned out not to be temp related so I took it out. I had it propped between the side of the meister and the co2 line temporarily. There have been a lot of good posts on how people mount their fans but the one from an earlier reply to this post using the 4 screws in the mounting holes sounds like a good and easy one.

That's what I had in mind - two screws maybe 3 inches long, and two maybe 1.5 inches long, so that it is angled up as it rests on the floor of the Beer Meister. Thanks to all for your suggestions.
