Default Potential Thermostat Problem

Hi all. I just starting having a temperature problem with my Sanyo kegerator. I have two PC fans inside, one to cool the tower and another to keep air moving around and keep a consistant temp top-to-bottom. This setup has worked perfectly for at least 4-5 months and several kegs.

I keep the temp right at 36-37. But just this week I've twice noticed the temp as high as 47 (I keep a cup of water with a digital thermometer probe on the top of my keg). When I turn the temp dial all the way down, the compressor kicks on and stays on after I move it back to the position I had it in and then cools everything back down to 36.

Is this a sign that my thermostat is failing? Has anyone else run into this problem with their Sanyo? It seems that it's not always kicking back on when it should to maintain a consistant temp. Do I need a new thermostat or am I missing something else that could cause this problem?

Thanks!

Is there any ice built up on your cooling plate? If so this could cause your fridge not to cool as efficently as it should. If so defrost the fridge do not try to scrape the ice off.

That's a possibility although I don't remember seeing any ice on the cooling plate. I'll keep a closer eye on that over the next couple days though.
