Default Leaking CO2?

I have a Sears Kenmore beer coooler (which is awesome!!) and had the oddest thing happen to me today. Yesterday, my keg blew so I got another one, then let the keg stand upright overight w/o tapping it. I turned the CO2 off before I took out the old keg (simply by turning the cylinder valve off). When I put the new keg in today, I tapped it, then turned on the CO2 cylinder valve. I noticed a hissing sound coming from where the tank connects to the regulator and it hasn't gone away. I have never heard a hissing sound before, nor did I touch anything when I turned it off - I just turned the knob - and now it sounds like it's leaking from where it screws into the regulator. Any idea how this could have happened, or what I need to do about it? Maybe it's an indication that the CO2 is almost gone?

Thanks for reading and any input

Im not 100% sure but it sounds like a possibility. Im very involved with paintball and i know when the air in the compressed air tanks gets very low the regulators will oftan release a small amount of air. I know we're dealing with different gasses and pressures here but i know when dealing with the compressed air regulators i deal with this sounds like a likely cause of the leak.

The last time I had the tank refilled was almost a year ago, so it could just be time to get a refill. I will do that and see if that takes care of the leak.

I just thought it was awfully strange that I didn't touch anything and it randomly started leaking!!

Thanks for the input. Happy drinking!!

Always open the cylinder valve slowly. At times, quickly opening the valve can shock the regulator and damage the internal parts. If this hissing sound continues, you may require replacement parts.

If it sounds like it is leaking from where the regulator screws onto the tank it could just be the gasket. Did you try tightening the connection?
