Default First ounce off?

I run a bevair (cooled tower). am anal about hygiene-a holdover from being a homebrewer... I notice the first ounce of beer of the day is somewhat skunky, after that all is well. I have taken to discarding the first ounce as a sacrifice to the beer gods but wonder if my chromed brass tap and shank is imparting an off flavor to beer that sits in it. anyone else run into this?

Also, is there a good source/table for the CO2 specs for various breweries?

Work hard, play harder.

What kind of beer are you dispensing?

In general I go by this:
British Ale: 1.8 to 2.2 volumes
German Lager: 2.5 volumes
American Lagers and Ale: 2.6 to 2.8 volumes
Wheat Beers: 3.0 volumes

Then you can use that calculator that is posted all over here

Hope I wasn't useless
