dam sps, u have my mouth watering on the SA summer ale, not available in MD yet. my ? to you is are u a devout beer drinker or one to let the keg sit around for months at a time. 38f is the target temp to start at, 12-14 psi is the usual psi to go with, but if you have surfed the forums here, u will see a lot of foaming issues in the past 6 months. I run michelob amber bock @ 9psi for a 1/6 keg (sixtel) and not one foaming issue here.

I just tapped it on Saturday. I went with 14psi and it seems to be just right. (Outside of the normal Haier beer cooled tower shot of foam on the first pour.) This thing will be dry in 2 - 3 weeks depending on how much my wife drinks.

I switched the original one gauge unit over to MM premium regulator last year Scott and as far as im concerned it's fine. I cant run anything over 10 psi, all foam. havent had an issue with foam at all with these sixtels.

Got the Sam Summer running in a Haier here too, and I run it at a little under 10psi. No foaming issues and the beer is great. I look forward to many kegs of this stuff over the summer months here in NH.

there is my buddy bigstein, where the heck u been, hibernating? I see u are running your keg @10psi too, I'm not disagreeing with Scott or the breweries at which to set the pressures with the elevations people are at, but mine blows foam on all brews when I run it up above 10psi. and this past winter there have been a bunch of posts about that problem. Like Scott sez, the kegerators are the most $$$ way to deliver draught beer, I believe that now. If I had to do it over again, I would have bought a cheap fridge and put a conversion kit in it like a friend of mine did, he runs his at 13 psi and no foam. I think the whole problem is in the tower which does not get cold enough. o well too late now [ ]

Summer Ale was available here in NJ at the beginning of April. When I went to my local store to try to get the White Ale the manager told me White was done and Summer was in. I told him I thought it was a little arly for Summer Ale and he told me the best way to know what is available to to see what seasonal the local bars are pouring. Sure enough, I go to the local bar the next night and Summer Ale was on tap.
As far as pressure goes. I've been running most of my kegs between 12 & 14 psi on my Haier. While the warming tower causes some foam on the first pour the flow seems to be OK for the rest of the night. I usually will pour 3 oz or so into a plastic cup before I fill my first pint. Then drink that little "taster" once the foam settles.

I actually didn't have any trouble running Sam at a higher pressure last summer but found my kegs of Redhook were foaming up at the higher pressure. I adjusted it down over the winter and had good success so have just left it there. Maybe I will crank it up a bit just to see what happens. One thing I will say about the Sam, after a winter of drinking the darker stuff the Summer Ale goes down plenty smooth.

Summer Ale = mother's milk
Can't wait to get off the muscle relaxers I've been taking for a neck problem so I can drink more than one without passing out.

Will someone please find out what the carbonation level in volumes is for Summer Ale. Once we know this, problem solved![8D]

I've sent emails to the Boston Beer Co through their website a couple of times to get CO2 volumes for their beers and they never reply.
