Default 1st Cleaning

Hi Everyone,

A happy new kegerator owner here. I have got alot of info from just reading posts, everyone is so helpful. I am haveing a little foam problem but believe my hose was too short, only 4'. I have a Haier Brewmaster with a 1/2 keg Miller lite, got 37deg. 1st pour and 34 second pour, at 12psi. I just lengthen my hose to 8' and cleaned my system for the 1st time. I did buy it used and wasn't aware I needed to clean. So with all the info here I ordered my cleaning kit and hose from MM.

My question is how long should I let the keg sit before I tried it?

Thanks

Thumbs up

Welcome to the forum! When you first get your keg from the store you should let it sit an hour or two to settle and cool down. Anyways, I hope you enjoy your kegerator!

IMHO it just depends on the amount of jostling it goes through in your getting it home. Frequently I'm able to hook up a new keg, tap it, pour off a 1/2 glass of foam or so and it's good to go. But, there's been a couple of times where I've had to let it sit for an hour or two before it would pour correctly.

Good luck and enjoy learning about your new kegerator.

Default Cleaning kit

Got my cleaning kit today ... MM had the connector on backwards
Had to remove the barbed end and repair.
The lid on the cleaner was cracked ... some powder in box.
Oh well at least it got here in a couple of days.
