Default how to fit co2 tank inside my kegerator?

i have a kegerator with the shelf inside in the back --to put your co2 tank on.

I have a 5lb tank with the gauges --and its about 3" too high because of the gauges.

can i turn the gauges sideways to fit? or am I better off with a 2.5 size tank? I will probably only go through 2-3 kegs a year?

Is there something else I should consider here?

    Thanks.

Do you have any pictures? What make of kegerator is it? Normally you have about 2-3" to spare above the gauges when using a 5lb'er.

A 2.4lb tank will dispense 4 half barrel kegs.

You do NOT want to lay co2 tank on it's side. The co2 in the tank is liquid. If that goes through the regulator, it will damage the regulator, and turn into a potentially deadly projectile if the co2 discharges all at once.

I just re-read your post. You asked if you can turn the co2 GUAGES sideways... not the tank. Duh. Yeah, you can turn the guages sideways.
