I keep mine at 35 degree's and 12 PSI, but I like it colder than most.

I used Amber Bock for a couple of years and found that the internal preasure is usualy 2.5 volumes of gas at 32 degrees. This gives you about 11 PSI at 32 degrees. Bottom Line is if you have a keg that lasts a month or so it could absorb more CO2 than was in it originally. One thing to remember CO2 gas moves in and out of the beer in the keg so if more CO2, than its original amount, is placed on top of the beer the beer will absorb it. Consequently there will be more internal pressure than previous. Every 2 degrees increase in temperature gives you one more pound in internal pressure. If in doubt call Bud and ask them.

2.5 volume beer. To gain perfect equilibrium, 12 PSIG @ 38 degrees F would prevent gas in beer from leaving solution and gas in the headspace from imparting into the top layer of beer.

For dispensing, the indusrty has utilized what is referred to as "push pressure" which equates to approx. two PSIG for keeping gas in solution as it flows through the system. With this, dispense at 14 PSIG. Will this cause flavor or overcarbonation issues? Not enough that anyone could ever detect.

I have the pressure adjusted to 11 psi for the past week. It seems this is extremely high. Almost blows the glass out of your hand. Have about 1" of beer and the rest foam. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dan

Replace with five feet and readjust pressure to 14 PSIG if your [u]beer</u> temperature is 38 F. If the flow is to slow, trim back in four inch increments until you are satisfied with the flow speed.

Default Thanks

I just wanted to say thank you guys!

I just bought my beer taper last week and I was afraid to buy my keg till I found out more about pressure needs. Since Amber Bock is one of the few beers I drink, I did not want to waste any. I searched on line every where and you guys are the only one who could answer my question

Thanks!!

I do tend to agree mostly with the above statement. But could anyone elaborate a little more on the subject. Thanks!
