No Beer Pouring
Hi all. We have a Danby keg cooler and recently replaced the beer line with another 5ft 3/16 line. Since then we can not get beer to pour. All we get is air. We have tried everything that we could think of and are having no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions[?]

What kind of beer are you dispensing? I had the same problem with my Danby but it turned out to be the coupler. I had a Heineken keg with what I thought was an S system (European) coupler; turned out to be a standard D (American) coupler. All I kept getting was air too because the probe was not piercing the keg. If it's same beer with same coupler then I really don't know what it could be (maybe the ball within the coupler?)

do you have the handle on the keg coupler in the down and locked position? if so, try this with the keg. put a paper towel on the keg ball and very gently press down, if air and beer comes out you might have a bad coupler.
also a lil tidbit of info, if you drink different beers, imports, craft etc. it is a good idea to invest in the usual D coupler, G,S,and U. handy to have around if you buy a keg and dont know the coupler letter.

Thanks to both. Question for you topgun. It appears that we may have a bad coupler. Does that mean that we need to get a whole new sankey?

I would start with pulling it off the hoses, no sense letting your beer get warm. take a close look at the outlet for the beer, is it clogged? also there is a little ball inside that prevents the backflow of beer back into the keg, shake the coupler and make sure it moves inside

Problem solved!!! Thank you all for the suggestions. Turns out, the rubber gasket on the sankey was missing. We compared the Euro sankey with the American one. We noticed the black rubber gasket was not on the Euro one. Must have fallen off the last time we cleaned our lines. So we pulled the gasket off the American and put on the European one. Well, we have a 1/2 barrel of Heineken to get started on. Thanks again and enjoy the weekend!!
