Default metallic tasting beer

Just finished moving 600 miles up the state..cleaned my keg lines before I packed them away for the move...used my kegerator as a fridge for a few days, made the move...and today bought a keg of fosters....I also got a new canister of CO2...The welding shop I got it at doesn't refills on site, just does exchange for an already filled canister....when I hooked it all up, and drew a beer, there is a pretty strong metallic aftertaste...what could be causing this? Is the beer itself a bad batch? is there some way the CO2 can be polluted...even though I drew the beer within a minute ro so of hooking up the CO2?

I've had that happen with a Sam Adams keg once, cleared itself up after pouring a few. dont know what the problem was. when I used to drink canned beer, sometimes you would get that taste.

If the cylinder has not been *** tested recently, there could be contamination in the bottle. There should be a date stamped on the cylinder. This date is current for five years. After this the cylinder is visually inspected and pressure tested.

Check out a gas purifier. This may alleviate an off taste issue.

The taste cleared up after a few beers...I think it was a natural part of the beer flavor that for some reason was 'very' strong....because I can still taste it very faintly in the background...but the beer tastes totally normal to me....will have to order a glass of fosters somewhere if I find a local place that serves it...where I just moved...'nothing' iis local though..LOL

Is there a food grade CO2? I thought there was only medical grade and everything else.
