Noob, first kegerator questions!

Evening everyone. I got a sweet b-day present from the finance this year, a kegerator. It is a Nostalgia brand from walmart, and the instructions were pretty poor as to the correct operating procedures.

I have everything hooked up, CO2 tank filled, keg tapped etc as of about an hour ago.

Question: Do I open the CO2 tank all the way or just a little bit, the instructions dont say? The CO2 tank reads about 50, I assume that is the amount of CO2 in the tank.

Question: The beer comes out at an incredible speed and looks to be all foam. Is this normal for some amount of time?

I found this review on my kegerator:
"SIMPLY TURN THE BLUE KNOB ON THE REGULATOR TO ADJUST THE RATE OF FLOW/MINIMIZE THE HEAD."

That blue knob is the shutoff valve on the regulator piece with the gauge. You think this is something I should mess with?

In the lame instruction book for operating you kegerator it says
4. Increase the pressure if the beer runs too slowly.

It looks like I have the opposite problem. Will closing off the CO2 regulator some "lessen" the pressure?

Will that cause my beer to go bad?

Do a couple of searches for your model on here, there are several threads on how to deal with this.

Shortened, there is no good way to knowingly regulate the pressure on that unit as delivered, you can back it all the way down and then try to find a pressure that pours well for you, or you can get invest in a proper regulator and save a lot of headaches. Most people find the blue knob does very little for them...ymmv.
