Default Newbie with a small beer leak

Hi all, I'm new to this whole keg thing. I recently completed my basement, and had a new bar built. Of course, I needed a kegerator!

All was good, until I tried to tap my first keg yesterday. I've got the C02 hooked up and running at approx. 12psi. The keg is a Molson Canadian Coors Light. (D Type)

Here's the problem...after approx 30mins of tapping the keg, I get a small beer leak at the top where the connection is!?!?!?

It's not bubbling, but just sitting in there!?!??!

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Are all the washers installed? I made a rookie mistake when I got my first kegerator and had the same problem. I failed to install the beer line washers to the couplers.

Good luck!

- Hi TJHECK, thanks for the quick reply!

- I just looked, and there is an "outer" seal, and an "inner" seal in place.

- Do I need another one and do they require a lubricant or something?

Its sounds like your couplers have the washers. The washer I am speaking of are from the beer line to the coupler.
Is this a new set up or used?

It's a new set-up.

Here's a weird one...I hooked up the second keg this morning, and it's been almost 7 hours now and no leaks!?!?!?

Instead, I've got a load of foam when I pour?!!??!

Are you saying that you have two gaskets against each other? If so that is never good. Metal, rubber, metal is fine. Metal, rubber, rubber, metal is bad.

I looked this morning, and there was another leak!!!!

Is there supposed to be a washer in the line that screws onto the coupler?
The beer is "pooling" in the top part of the keg, but it doesn't seem to be "pouring" out there.
When I disconnect the line it's steel on steel.

Any thoughts?

OK, I've found the Owner's Manual, (which I thougth had got lost) and it says that there is supposed to be a washer in there.

Mine doesn't have one??!?!! Maybe I missed it??

What size (i.d & o.d) do I need, and can get one at my local Home Depot or Crappy Tire??

All help is greatly appreciated!!!

That is the washer I have been speaking of. I do not know the diameter. Check here at MM to see if they sell them, I'm sure they do.
I did the exact same thing when I got my unit, small leak because of the lack of beer line washer.

The place you got your keg from, if they rent or sell tap systems, should have the washer that you need.
